Well, summer has been and gone, although weatherwise summer was hardly noticeable here in Ireland this year. The lack of high water temperatures this summer meant that fish, shoals and predatore alike, were to be found less concentrated and more spread throughout the water column.
August saw us boat the biggest pike in a while, when visitor Felix from Berlin caught this cracking 118.5cm pike.
We also had meter pike on the fly in August, Italiuan fly fisherman Fabio managed to get one of them, during his short visit.
We are looking forward to proper pike time coming in soon with the arrival of cooler nights…
