Every year around this time, the tuna fishing season starts in the Canary Islands; In this case shoals of medium sized Albacore (Thunnus alalunga) are scattered across the fishing area attacking shoals of mackerel. Also appearing are the first Cory’s Shearwaters along with Tern and Gannets, which swoop when the Tuna attack the shoals. Several types of whales have been sighted as well as Grey Dolphins. The fishermen who have joined us recently have been having great days fishing, catching many tuna.
